Clever concepts with a bit of humor are often seen in Bill’s Art. As an artist, Bill gets ideas for all sorts of pictures; landscapes, caricatures, cartoons etc. Bill Dougal's Art is designed for you to enjoy as home decor or unique gifts. Check ‘em out with your eyeballs, then check ‘em out in your shopping cart. Some pictures are playful, and some do the work of commemorating special people, places and things. Pen and ink with watercolor finish is usually the technique. Art by Dori Dougal, mainly caricatures, is also included here.

Cool Mule
This dapper donkey dude gazes coolly though purple shades. Purple and yellow are complimentary colors, and "cool mule' is hand lettered in hot pink. This was originally made for my participation in a Mule Festival. Believe it or not. No, I wasn't in the mule competition, I was a caricature artist. It'll look cool on your wall.
Home Tweet Home
This birdhouse and it's feathered tenants features bright colors and a clever slogan. "Home Tweet Home" parodies the saying, "Home Sweet Home". Pen & ink with watercolor.
I Clove Garlic
You can't spell garlic without love. That's emphasized visually in this novelty artwork. Two cloves fit romantically into a heart shape. Th "love" in "clove" is red balancing the red above. Give it to someone you cLOVE. Or hang it yourself.
Garlic Cloves
Garlic lovers unite over this friendly feeling watrcolor of a garlic bulb and garlic cloves. This originally done for my participation in the Mystic Garlic Festival. I bet it would look good in your kitchen.
Llama
Llamas look cool, and my watercolor of a Llama looks cool. Or perhaps it's an alpaca. A sketch brown colored pencil drawing was the start, then watwercolor was added. If you look closely, you'll see flies and motion lines around the cute animal.
The Secret of Life: Swing Your Partner
Old timey country folks are square dancing in this delightfully primitive image. The art was carved into wood a, inked and printed on rice paper. The original prints are gone, but quality computer prints of the woodcut couple are available. "The Secret of Life: Swing Your Partner" is good advice, and this print is a good reminder of that.
Skater Linocut
An ice skater in Victorian era clothing is shown in this delightfully primitive image. The art was carved into linoleum a, inked and printed on rice paper. The original prints are gone, but quality computer prints are available.
New Baby Art
Love, marriage...baby carriage. A visual retelling of the nursury rhyme... “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage.” If you know some having a baby, and you want to give a present, you may wonder, "What?" Wonder no longer.
Boxer Dog
The head of a boxer dog appears on the body of a boxer man. This invokes a word pun, expressed in visual terms. I hope it provides a laugh for you and anyone you may give it to.
Alice in Bookland
The Alice in Wonderland theme is bent towards book, as Alice is reading a book, and her face is shaped like a book. It was originally done for the CT Library Association conference, Characters from the original alice are in the picture too; cheshire cat, dodo and the mad rabbit.
Mohegan Sun
Original concept showing Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Casino, with the sun with feather "rays" over the building. Pen & ink with watercolor. It would make a great zmohegan Sun souvenir.
